The fire stated in a house in Kisumu ndogo area of Korogocho slums and rapidly spread to neighbouring houses.

Property of unknown value also went up in flames as residents battled to contain the fire.

Kenya Redcross and the Nairobi County Fire Brigade were among the first to rush to the scene to coordinate emergency rescue efforts.

The course of the fire is still unknown with no casualty reported so far.
