Family of Bobi Wine's slain driver rejects money from Museveni
The late Yasin Kawumas family has rejected a reasonable financial support of about UGX20m from President Museveni.
The late Kawuma, who was Bobi Wine's driver, was allegedly killed by security operatives in the northern town of Arua during Arua by-election campaigns which were led by Bobi Wine.
Musicians Catherine Kusaasira and Bebe Cool reached out to the president to support the family of the killed driver.
The family rejected the financial support from the 74=year-old president whose soldiers allegedly killed their only breadwinner.
"I reached out to the president because he understands a parent. He gave me UGX20m to give to Kawuma's widows. I saw them on TV in need of financial support," Kusaasira told reporters in Kampala.
It was his first visit to the family after returning home form the US where he received treatment for the injuries he sustained during his brutal arrest in Arua.
The legislator's colleagues claim that the death of Yasin Kawuma was also an attempted assassination on the 34-year-old legislator.
