Ex-Vipers coach Roberto Oliviera signs 2-year-deal with Simba SC, set for unveiling

Tanzania giants Simba Sports Club are set to unveil former Vipers Sports Club head coach Roberto Oliviera.

According to reliable sources, Oliviera will be unveiled by his new employers tomorrow after he agreed terms with the Tanzania giants.

 Oliviera allegedly signed a two-year-deal with Simba with the task to guide the team out of the CAF Champions’ League group stage and also wade off local competition from Yanga Sports Club for domestic glory.

Following his unveiling, Roberto’s immediate task is the Mapinduzi Cup that kicks off January 3, a knock out tournament played to commemorate Zanzibar’s Revolution annually.

Simba SC, the 2022 champions will open their campaign with a match against Mlandege on January 3 and Roberto is expected to be in the dugout.

The Brazilian coach took charge of Vipers in August 2021 and led the Venoms to the Uganda Premier League title and were also the Uganda Cup finalists.

He then led Vipers to the CAF Champions League making Vipers the second club to make it to the continental competition.

He boats of a stellar record winning 43 games out of 57. He only lost six times and bagged nine draws.

His exit from Kitende is a big blow to Vipers’ CAF Champions League campaign with the group stage set to kick off in January. Vipers are pooled in the same group as Simba SC.
