Cindy reveals how she met Amani's father

2005 was the year Cindy Sanyu first saw Mario Brunetti. That was the same year she participated in Coca-Cola Real Stars.

At the time, Cindy’s elder sister had been dating a white man for a while, so one day when they went out to Kampala Casino, the boyfriend of Cindy’s sister invited Brunetti along.

In an interview, Cindy said they didn't immediately date, but romance would be ignited when she finally joined Blu*3.

She said the first time they met she was “still young and focused on other things”, but by the time of joining Blu*3 she had matured.

Brunetti, an Italian national, was with Cindy Sanyu for 10 years and they share a daughter named Amani Brunetti.

Amani is one of the contestants in this year's Little Miss Universe. Little Miss Universe Uganda is an initiative established in 2017 to mentor and build young girls' confidence to use beauty and talents to empower fellow children.

The annual beauty contest has, over the years, groomed little girls, training them in life skills, confidence, public speaking, personal care and general knowledge in order to prepare them for bigger beauty pageants such as Miss Uganda.

The children will be competing in three categories namely; Toto Category, Mini Category and Little Category. Tricia Kyomuhendo, the organiser, urged parents to encourage their daughters to take part in the event.

Cindy and Mario split in 2014, with the former saying he failed to commit to marrying her.

In the interview, Cindy said they are co-parenting; Amani spends weekdays with mummy and weekends with dad.
