1. Busoga King and Queen

The Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Majesty William Wilberforce Nadiope Gabula IV, married Her Royal Highness Jovia Mutesi in a lavish wedding ceremony held in November.

From fundraising activities to the unveiling of the queen and the wedding reception, which was graced by the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Operations Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, everything about his occasion was marvelous.

2. Chameleone and Weasel

The incident happened during his concert dubbed Gwanga Mujje that was held in February at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.

Chameleone said he was convinced to apologise by former Health Minister Mike Mukula, who is also the current national vice chairman for NRM in the Eastern region.

3. Sheebah and Cindy

The Sheebah Karungi Vs. Cindy Sanyu music battle, which was held in September, lived up to every bit of expectation.

Following weeks of hype, crossfire commentary, and even a fully-fledged televised debate, the divas gave their all at showtime at the Kololo Independence Grounds. This battle also inspired other interesting events like the war of words between Cindy & Winne Nwagi and Zahara Totto & DJ Nimrod.

4. Keko

The rapper Tracey Jocelyn Keko returned from Canada in October after a while away from Kampala. She has since been invited to perform at some events like the launch of Azawi's Sankofa album and she's also been promising new music.

The Nnaabagereka of Buganda Queen Sylvia Nagginda Luswata wrote an eponymously named book, which won the bestseller badge on Amazon.

The memoir, which was launched on March 23 at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, hit the number one spot under the 'Best Sellers in East Africa Historycategory.

6. Kenzo

Eddy Kenzo was unveiled as the president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) in May and no week has passed without him being in the media because of his role. He has faced off with fellow singers who tried to undermine his leadership and those who poked holes in the Federation's mission like singer-turned-politician Bobi Wine.

7. Alien skin

After being slapped by Pallaso in June, Alien Skin started dominating entertainment news headlines. This unfortunate event also earned him attention from the events promoter Abitex who teamed up with other heavy hitters in the industry to organise for him a concert dubbed Sitya Danger at Freedom City Mall.

8. Kateleya & Kandle and Hellen Lukoma

Actress and singer Hellen Lukoma was involved in a war of words with the duo of Kateleya & Kandle for some considerable part of June.

Away from the beef, the duo had a wonderful year musically, launching arguably the most popular music album of 2023. Hellen Lukoma also scored some juicy acting gigs and brand endorsements.
