Tito Opio on Tuesday testified before Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).

The committee is probing the central bank officials over their role in the alleged improper closure and sale of seven commercial banks between 1993 and 2017.

He told the Abdul Katuntu led committee that the duo was captured on CCTV camera on February 11, 2018, four days after firing their boss.

The testimony comes days after the former Bank of Uganda Director for Commercial Banks Supervision skipped Tuesday's COSASE meeting.

She was represented before the committee by her lawyer Robert Kirunda Wesike.

Last week, Bagyenda wrote to the Bank of Uganda governor informing him that she had travelled out of the country for already confirmed appointments.
