Tears as Carol Nantongo surprises her manicurist at his wedding

The singer popped up at the wedding of Dedan Akakinza and his wife Karitas over the weekend, catching the couple completely by surprise.

Dedan is Natongo’s manicurist operating his nail shop in Rubaga.

Dressed in a black and white side slit dress, Nantongo crashed the wedding, performing her song “Oliwa” as she walked into the wedding reception.

Dedan jumped out of his chair, hands over his head and in total disbelief.

For a few minutes, the bride and groom could be seen wiping tears as Nantongo serenaded the guests.

In a brief speech, the singer said, she had made a last-minute decision to come to the wedding of her dear friends.

Dedan had invited her several times, but she happened to be booked for an expensive show on the wedding day.

On the night before the wedding, she said, Dedan reached out to him again but she confirmed to him that she had a show which was fully paid and she couldn't miss.

“But after chatting with him, I thought to myself, Is money the most important thing of all? Singing is just an art which we shall leave here on earth,” she said.

“ That is why I decided to come here.”
