Bouncer beats female patron to death at Matugga bar

The suspect was identified by police as Jordan Ainebyona, a bouncer at Closet Bar and Restaurant in Matugga.

Ainebyona is reported to have gotten into an altercation with a female customer only identified as Clare.

He suspected her of stealing a phone from another customer.

According to eyewitnesses, Ainebyona badly beat up Clare while accusing her of theft.

“We are not sure what happened with the bouncer because the woman pleaded with him to stop beating her,” said one of the witnesses.

Luke Owoyesigire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesman said Ainebyona was arrested when he took Clare to Police.

"The Police officers realized that she was in serious medical condition and rushed her to hospital where she died,” said the Police mouthpiece.

“ We arrested the bouncer and he is now being charged with murder.”

Badru Mpewo from the Bouncers Association of Uganda condemned the incident.

“We wish to inform the nation that we have no responsibility as BAU because that bouncer is not our member,” he added.
