Bebe Cool to Katikkiro Mayiga: ‘You don't talk about a dead person like that’

"I wasn't happy with the Katikkiro's comments. Katikkiro is a Muganda... Even if he wasn't a Muganda, you don't talk about a dead person like that," said Cool.

In a video clip that's been making rounds on social media, Kaitikkiro Mayiga is heard saying that Ichuli struck him as someone who used to talk a lot and think less.

Said the Buganda Kingdom Prime Minister: "Our colleague, Isma, who died... he was talking too much. It seems to me he was talking faster than he would think... it's always good to think more than you talk... so that you say something you've thoroughly pondered over."

According to Cool, real name Moses Ssali, the prime minister should be bringing people together, but his comments appeared derogatory.

"He may have died for being a fool," said Cool, "but you don't condemn people for being fools... it could be inherent."

Olaxes Ismail, aka Jajja Kalevu Ichuli, died on Saturday, May 6 at the hands of gunmen who shot him at around 9:20P.M. in Kyanja Central Zone, Nakawa Division in Kampala. 

The social commentator, who returned to Uganda towards the 2021 presidential elections after spending close to 10 years in Sweden, had been the President of the Uganda Bloggers Association since 2021.

Born Ibrahim Tusubira, the internet star was laid to rest on Sunday, May 5 in Katwe Village, Nakisunga sub county in Mukono district.
