Bagyenda's aides arrested for stealing vital documents from Bank of Uganda

Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department has arrested four people, including security guards, who reportedly aided former Bank of Uganda (BoU) supervision boss Justine Bagyenda to steal vital documents.

On Wednesday, the central bank's head o security testified before Committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) saying a CCTV camera captured Bagyenda's driver and bodyguard carrying bags of documents from the bank.
Other bank security guards who were on duty on February 11th have been taken into custody to help in the investigations.

Bagyenda -- who is being probed over the irregular closure of seven commercial banks -- was fired from her position on February 7th.
She hasn't been able to attend any COSASE meeting since last week after notifying the committee chairperson and governor Bank of Uganda about her appointments abroad.
