'Any person who thinks Bobi Wine can run a country must be mad'
John Nagenda, President Kaguta Museveni's senior advisor on media, has vetted in on Bobi Wine's ambitions of becoming the country's next president.
In a televised interview on NBS TV, the 80-year-old said Bobi Wine, 36, can't run the country right now.
He claimed that 'any right thinking person' who believes that the musician-turned-MP can be president is mad.
"Are you talking about the young man who has come up very fast?... Those waves are very good, they keep us at our toes...
"But for any right thinking person to believe that Bobi Wine, very nice person, well spoken and very intelligent, could run a country, they must be very mad."
However, Nagenda disclosed that Wine, also known as Robert Kyagulanyi, needs to start practicing now and 'maybe in the next ten years' he can lead the country.
"Maybe if he starts practicing now, in ten years -- who knows?"
Wine is rallying Ugandans through the 'People Power' movement to get national IDs to prepare to oust Museveni, Uganda's president since 1986, in the 2021 presidential election.
The Kyadondo East legislator is being described as the new face of opposition and has publicly said he wants Museveni's seat.
