8 dead, several injured in Saturday morning accident

Eight people have been reported dead in a Saturday morning accident along the Webuye-Bungoma highway.

Reports reaching Pulselive.co.ke indicate that the accident involved a matatu which collided head on with a Modern Coast Bus, at Matulo Corner along the busy highway.

The matatu belonging to Western Townace Sacco was heading to Webuye when it hit the bus that was headed the opposite direction killing six passengers on the spot.

Two other passengers died at Webuye County Referral Hospital.

According to police, they have launched investigations into the accident.
