Seven Tana River County Government officials will spend the weekend in police custody over corruption allegations.

According to Citizen, the seven who include the County Head of Procurement Abashora Swaleh are accused of falsely buying 100 collapsible tanks at a cost of Sh30 million.
The seven are said to have awarded Regional Drilling Trading Limited a contract to supply the tanks, despite not meeting the evaluation criteria.
They were arraigned in Court and will remain in custody until Monday when their bail application will be heard afresh, after the prosecution said that their release will could allow them interfere with the witnesses.
