19 die in grisly motor accident in Kapchorwa

At least 19 people have died following an accident involving motor vehicle of Kiryadongo Vocational Technical institute in Kapchorwa.

Police say 6 survivors have been rushed to Mbale and Kapchorwa hospitals for treatment.

"19 people confirmed dead in an accident involving motor vehicle Reg UG 2833E of Kiryando Vocational Technical institute, Other 6 survivors rushed to Mbale and Kapchorwa hospitals for treatment," police said in a tweet.

Regional Police spokesperson told local reporters that the bus, which was heading to Mbale District, overturned several times. 

The bus was transporting members of National League of USA, an NGO based in Kiryandongo and Masindi, who were were returning from a three-day visit at Sipi.
