18-year-old scammer lures women using Facebook job adverts, sexually harasses them

According to police spokesperson, Fred Enanga, who was speaking during a Police weekly security briefing at the Police headquarters in Naguru, the culprit was targeting people, most especially women, with a medical background.

Enanga said Lubega opened a Facebook account calling himself Dr. Ronnie and that he would post medical jobs for people to apply.

The culprit called himself Dr. Ronnie and would pot medical jobs on the account for people to apply,” he said.

Lubega, he further narrated, would meet up with interviewees (mostly women) and rape them.

A female mid-wife whose identity has been concealed applied for one of the jobs he advertised and became a victim of his illegal practices.

The woman who is a resident of Kireka, Police revealed, met with Lubega in a bushy area and got raped. She reported the matter to Police and investigations were conducted to establish who the culprit was.

Lubega Ashraf, Police said, has since been arrested and awaits Court hearing.

Sexual related offences, according to the Police Annual Crime Report, stood at 14,693 in 2022 which was the fourth most reported crime.

The report further indicated that most sexual related offences were reported in rural areas where underage girls were sexually harassed.
