17 killed in a tragic accident in Pakwach

At least 17 people died on spot after a tragic motor accident in Pakwach District on Sunday night.

About 30 traders were aboard of a truck when the accident happened.

Authorities say 10 people sustained severe injuries and are receiving treatment. The death toll is likely to increase.

A preliminary report reveals that the accident happened when the truck lost control at a slope.

Bodies of the deceased are at Arua Referral Hospital mortuary -- the same hospital where the injured traders are receiving treatment.

Last year in December, 23 people died after a grisly accident in Kapchorwa District when the vehicle they were travelling in overturned several times.
