According to eye witnesses, the matatu that was coming from Kamukuywa hit a West Sugar Company tractor as it tried to overtake another vehicle.

All the passengers in the 14 seater matatu died on the spot as the sugar cane tractor caught fire.

The accident is said to have occurred about 600 meters away from Kamukuywa Bridge where another accident that saw 14 people lose their lives occurred last week.

The matatu collided head on with a cane tractor at the notorious Kamukuywa Bridge.

Area residents have called on relevant authorities to ensure bumps are erected along the road.
