The buses belonging to Chania Travellers SACCO had been parked at a garage in Thika for the night when the incident happened.

People residing in nearby buildings were woken up by loud blasts and as the multi-million investment went up in flames.

Kiambu county fire fighters were called in to contain the situation but not much could be salvaged as the fire swept through the garage.

No injuries were reported in the night incident.

The buses ply the Nairobi-Thika route.

Investigations have been launched to establish the cause of the fire.
