The 13th graduation ceremony is slated for August 8th at Speke Resort Munyonyo, with former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, who is also the university chancellor expected in attendance.

Others questioned whether the NUP president had participated in and completed the law course at the university.

Addressing the press today, the Cavendish University Vice Chancellor Dr Olive Sabiiti sought to end the speculation.

It is true, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu is graduating. For us, at Cavendish University, we don't treat him as an opposition leader but as a student because our education offering is accessible to all individuals Ugandan or non-Ugandans. We have 45 different nationalities here,” she said.

Regarding Bobi Wine’s participation, Dr Sabiiti said he was an active student who fulfilled all the course requirements.

Like other students, he had to meet all the requirements including class attendance, passing of assessments, exams, internship and research projects,” she said.

I can testify that he completed all these requirements, otherwise he would not have graduated.
