Girl who is tortured in video blames herself for misfortune- Police

The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire has confirmed that the girl who has since been identified as Pretty Nicole spent the night at Kawempe Police station and she blames herself for what happened to her.

The internet was thrown into a snafu yesterday when a video emerged of a girl being battered by a group of other girls over what has since been confirmed to be a man.

In the video, the girl is cornered in a house by three other females who confront her about dating a man who supposedly belonged to one of them.

In the video, the young-looking girl is violently confronted, cornered, stripped naked among a collection of other forms of assault.

The video has since attracted a thunderstorm from the internet that prompted the Police to start a hunt for the violators

According to a one John Kelton, who media reports confirm to have been at Kawempe Police station, observing developments on the matter, it is Pretty Nicole who spent the night at the station.

“Live at Kawempe police station headquarters. What hurts me is that the girl who was beaten was the one that slept at Police,” he tweets.

In the tweet, he also reveals that Nicole was previously sick.

Luke Owoyesigire replied to his tweet, confirming that indeed, Nicole slept at the Police Station shelter reserved for victims of torture and kidnap.

“Kawempe Police station has a shelter for victims of torture, kidnap and trafficking,” Luke tweeted.

He further noted that she was held at the station after exhibiting signs of escaping from her mother, blaming herself for what happened.

“This is where she slept after exhibiting signs of escaping from her mother, it should be noted that the girl blames herself for what happened,” he added.

By the time of this publication, Police is yet to confirm if the violators have been apprehended.
