'The best I'm is because of you' - Irene praises hubby Maurice Mugisha

Birungi, who was celebrating her 50th birthday and 20 years of marriage to Mugisha, said her husband provided her with an environment to be the best version of herself.

"For 20 or so years I've been with my husband, he has allowed me to be that person," said Irene Birungi Mugisha, who is also the chief executive of the Presidential CEO Forum.

"I remember when we were dating, I think it was 2004-ish, the New Vision lady asked him and said, how will you manage this career woman? And he said, it doesn't matter what career she has, I'm going to be there for her. If it means me staying home to look after the children, I'll do that," continued Birungi in a video seen by this reporter.

"And like Mom said, you really stayed by your word. Thank you for loving me, thank you for caring for our families. The best I'm is because of you. The best I am is because of empowering me... The offices we work for are really not easy offices, and if you don't have a man who believes in you, every time you come back late, he might say that you've been somewhere else, but he never says that to me.

"Every time I came, you'd find that he would at least go back to the kitchen, get a cup of tea; it doesn't matter what time, so thank you so much, Maurice."

According to her Wikipedia entry, Irene Birungi is a mother of three children, a son from a previous relationship, and two daughters with her current husband.
