Six-pack stomach is for starved guys: Guy shows off 'beer belly' transformation

If you have not read our article "The scam of women who preach about soft life and men who preach about masculinity" get some time and check it out. On a similar note, an influencer recently showed off a beer belly or dad bod beside a picture of himself with six-pack abs. The bright grin on his face screams "No regrets". However, there's someone else in the picture to blame or thank, based on your beliefs.

In the post that has hit a million views, the influencer MÀXÍMÌŁŁÍÀŃØ_ÑWÀRÙH@Vulfgang_Nwaruh shares a "Before and After" collage showing a fit and muscular body in the first frame, and a "dad bod" (a man who was once fit but has gained some body fat around the waist, leading to a "beer belly" although his arms, legs, and chest are usually still toned) in the second frame.

The pictures are taken in a selfie format with his (girlfriend) holding the camera. This created the perception that he was fit at the start of the relationship and has developed the dad bod within the relationship. It did not take long for the comments to point the finger at the lady for the man's changed form.

There's no evidence of a direct impact of a relationship on physical fitness or appearance. In fact, the obsession with physical fitness is a recent social culture so it hasn't always been that way. So at some point, there was no way to tell if a man's physical appearance changed when he entered a relationship.

Many other things can affect someone's physical fitness including sickness, work, change of values, age, genetics, and so much more. And that just goes to prove that physical fitness is a poor standard for getting into or out of relationships unless partners share that value.

And if a relationship impacts physical fitness, can we acknowledge that some men get into the gym culture in order to get into relationships by feeling better about themselves and looking attractive? However, when they get into relationships and connect beyond physical fitness, and get more responsibilities, don't they revert to their "normal" state?

Relationship or not, the most important factor in physical fitness is the personal responsibility to stay that way or to change.
