If you ever feel the “Sunday blues,” a sensation associated with feelings of dread about the upcoming week, you’re certainly not alone, as a study shows that 81% of people surveyed feel a sensation of dread on Sunday in anticipation of the coming days.
How to prepare for an easy week at work/school
No matter what kind of week is ahead of you, you can make it easy for yourself with a few simple preparations. Apart from picking out clothes, there are other tips and tricks that can make your week easier. If you are tired of bracing yourself for the new week, read on.
This can affect your attitude, mood, and energy leaving you beat even before the week ends. While you cannot or may not be able to control the events, activities and obligations in your occupation, you can take time to prepare and you can look forward to your week. At the very least, to stay energised, positive, and relaxed.
Here are some tips to help you prepare for the week
Have an idea of what you are going to eat throughout the week. This can help you eat a relatively balanced diet throughout the week rather than settling for whatever you think about at the moment, which may not be well thought out. Write down your meal plan for the week, do grocery shopping as needed and stick to the plan.
Create an opening in case of hangout plans
Have at least one opening in your week to hang out or do something outside work and outside the house. You don't have to make plans for it but just have it in case something comes up or you want to do something spontaneous.
Set a reward routine/reminder
Set aside a routine to treat yourself in whatever way you feel is perfect for you. At the end of the day, you should be able to give yourself something that makes you feel good. It can be celebrating a win at work, acknowledging something good that happens, or recognising your effort. Even a simple "Hey, good job" in the mirror with a wink, can be rewarding for you.
Favourite day treat
We all have a favourite day, or those days when we get the feeling that it is going to be a good day. This is the day to amplify that positive attitude! Pull out your best outfit, get something new no matter how small, take off the dirty casing off your phone, do your best walk, speak with confidence, be genuinely nice, be funny, laugh, etc.
Slow day treat
On the other side, the days we dread or that go wrong can be damaging for us because they can ruin the rest of the week. Have a plan for when a day is not going so well for you. Prepare something you will practice or turn to on such a day.
