The Ben lists his top 7 Ugandan singers, announces collabo with Azawi

Rwandan singer The Ben revealed that he has already recorded a song with Azawi.

"I have a track with a Swangz Avenue artiste... Azawi," said The Ben in a media interview without disclosing when the jam would be released. "I'm looking forward to working with Winnie Nwagi. I love her as well. Uganda is my home. I love the country as a whole."

This wouldn't be Azawi's first collaboration with a Rwandan artiste, neither is it The Ben's first with a Ugandan.

From her Sankofa album, she teamed up with Elijah Kitaka (Uganda), Mike Kayihura (Rwanda), and Bensoul (Kenya) to release Elevated, which was produced by Bangar Boi.

Of all the duets between Rwandan and Uganda singers, The Ben has probably done the most hits with Ugandan singers. For instance, This is Love, his duet with Rema Namakula, is the second most watched video on her YouTube channel. He also collaborated with Sheebah on Binkolera, which was also produced by Nessim; No You No Life with B2C (Nessim) and Asht with Crysto Panda & Beenie Gunter (Nessim).

"I'm a big fan of Rema," said The Ben when he was asked if he was ever intimate with Rema Namakula. "She's actually my friend... That's my sister."

He also noted that he is a big fan of Fik Fameica, Navio, Jose Chameleone, Alien Skin, and Daddy Andre. "I'm a big fan of Ugandan music," he added.

The Ben, real name Benjamin Mugisha, was born in Uganda on January 9, 1977, at Mulago Hospital. His family left Uganda in 1999 and he returned in 2016.
