Top song collaborations between Ugandan and Rwandan artistes

Some of the hits the East African Community has enjoyed have been duets between Rwandan and Ugandan artistes.

Some of these collaborations have led to the export of talent, thus more earnings for investors in the music industry.

For instance, Face to Face, the most-watched song on the YouTube channel of Rwandan singing duo Charly Na Nina, was recorded by celebrated Ugandan producer Nessim.

Charlotte Rulinda (Charly) and Muhoza Fatuma Nina (Nina) also hired Swangz Avenue's Marvin Musoke to film their second and third-most-watched videos on YouTube.

Meanwhile, it's Nessim who produced their hit collaboration with Geosteady, which is now at 2.9 million views on YouTube. Producer Ronnie came in for their collaboration with Bebe Cool titled I Do.

In 2016, Deejay Pius and Jose Chameleone hired Paddy Man to produce their duet titled Agatako, now at 1 million views on YouTube. Pius also has a song with Radio & Weasel titled Play It Again and its was recorded by Eli Arkhis, the producer behind hits like Kano Kozze (Winnie Nwagi), Mapozi (Vinka) and Twalina Omukwano (Juliana Kanyomozi).

The late Danz Kumapeesa produced Too Bad, the duet by Deejay Pius and Ray Signature.

Another Rwandan singer who has done several songs with Ugandan singers is Bruce Melodie. He has Guwe Nze with Pallaso, which was produced by Temp and Mastered by Herbert Skills; Embeera Zo with Sheebah Karungi (produced by Artin Pro), Curvy Neighbour with B2C (co-produced by Nessim & Element EleéeH), Nyoola with Eddy Kenzo (MadeBeats) and We Made It with Daddy Andre (One2 studios).

The Ben has probably done the most hits with Ugandan singers. For instance, This is Love, his duet with Rema Namakula, is the second most watched video on her YouTube channel. He also collaborated with Sheebah on Binkolera, which was also produced by Nessim; No You No Life with B2C (Nessim) and Asht with Crysto Panda & Beenie Gunter (Nessim).

Gahunda brought Kid Gaju and Cindy Sanyu together. They hired Nash Wonder, the beatmaker behind hits like Ice Cream & Bailamos (Sheebah), Magnetic (Radio & Weasel), Hellena (David Lutalo & Goodlyfe) and Ndabirawa (Kalifah AgaNaga), to produce the song.

It's Nash Wonder, who also produced Kid Gaju's hit song with Radio and Weasel titled Tornado. Radio and Weasel also sang Pete Kidole with Urban Boyz, the singing duo that also has a song with Jackie Chandiru titled Take It Off, which was produced by Magic Washington.

Azawi, Elijah Kitaka, Mike Kayihura, and Bensoul teamed up on Elevated, which was produced by Bangar Boi.

Come to me brought Alpha Rwirangira and Bebe Cool together, with Rinex as the producer. Jose Chameleone teamed up with Jean-Paul Samputu on True Love, with Paddy Man as the producer.
