According to the fashionista, Kenzo, born Edirisa Musuuza is considering changing his religion as a prerequisite for his upcoming wedding with the Minister of State for Minerals, Hon Fiona Nyamutoro.
She posted “…Eddy Kenzo will have to convert to Christianity as one of the demands from the parents of Nyamutoro to marry their girl.”
“Kenzo is now reportedly considering dumping the Islam religion as his Wedding is almost near. Kenzo won't be the first man to abandon his religion because of love, many men around the world have done it and life has moved on.”
It should be noted, however, that Minister Nyamutoro’s parents have publicly expressed openness and support to their daughter's marriage to a culturally unorthodox type of man – a musician.
In an interview, Nyamutoro’s father Patrick Aperu said he had no say in his daughter’s choice of a husband.
“A child grows up to make decisions and as parents, you cannot decide who your daughter should marry,” he said.
“They meet friends out there and how they meet them is none of our business. Our business is to receive the report that she brings home.”
Apecu however, drew a line on polygamy according to reports.
At the colorful visitation ceremony at the home Nyamutoro known traditionally as Anena, the minister's father was quoted warning Kenzo against marrying multiple women, a common Islamic practice.
He also reportedly insisted on Kenzo remaining faithful to Nyamutoro and spending quality time with her.
Kabareebe’s claims about a possible religion change rubbed some Kenzo fans the wrong way, with some dismissing it as an impossibility given the singer's known devotion to his region.
Others however, thought it would be a powerful love gesture from Mr Kenzo…one to be celebrated and emulated by other men.
