Gumisiriza is said to have spent last night at Katwe Police station where he was dragged by a sex worker.
Reports indicate that Gumisiriza met up with the woman on his way from Munyonyo, and drove her to his home to spend a night with her.
However, the two developed a misunderstanding which quickly spiraled into violence as they failed to agree on the arrangement.
The unnamed woman claimed at the police station that Gumisiriza pulled a knife on her as he accused her of secretly filming him with a phone.
Gumisiriza was detained hours later when he went to the same police station, to report the same woman.
He reportedly claimed that she was trying to steal his vehicle.
Police officers according to reports, tried to mediate between the two parties, but common ground eluded them as the woman demanded cash compensation, forcing the authorities to detain Gumisirisa overnight.
A video circulating online showed Gumisiriza together with his lawyers engaging in a discussion at the police station.
At the time of the incident, Gumusirira’s wife, Hajjat Kulthum was concluding her trip and on her way back from Canada where she was attending the 2023 Miss Uganda Canada beauty pageant, as part of the organizers.
