Police officers arrested in failed robbery attempt at KCB Machakos branch's ATM

Three police officers and two prison warders were on Wednesday morning arrested after a botched robbery at KCB's Machakos branch.

Detectives pursuing the crooked government officers were called in after a security guard noticed suspicious activity at the ATM section.

A sum of Sh268,000 was recovered as well as their getaway vehicle, a Toyota Noah with the license plate KCB 223U.

The police officers included Cpl Richard Wambua from Kahuro Police Station in Muranga county, APC Boniface Wambua attached to the Random Deployment Unit (RDU) Mua, and APC Cyprian Odundo based in Machakos.

The prison warders have been identified as Julius Mwalili from Prisons Headquarters and Musyoki Mutua who workd at the Prisons Regional Commander Nairobi.
