Owner of Carrefour Supermarket chain dies

Majid Al Futtaim, a United Arab Emirates billionaire and owner of the recently launched Carrefour Supermarket chain in Kampala is dead. His death was announced on Twitter by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates

“May God have mercy on our brother Majid Al Futtaim, the creative businessman, and one of Dubai’s most important merchants and senior men,” Al Maktoum tweeted on the evening of Friday.

“May God have mercy on him and place him in his spacious gardens,” he added.

By press time, the cause of the billionaire’s death has not yet been made public. He was a mall developer who held the Carrefour franchise rights in many countries.

According to his Business Empire via Twitter, he has been a visionary entrepreneur with goals that transformed the face of business in the entire region and he has also inspired so many people through his lifetime achievements.
