Sylivia Namutebi ready for international glory in the Mrs World Pageant

Winning a beauty pageant as a married woman who has to balance work and family can be tricky. There has to be a lot of hard work involved to impress judges and sweep them off their feet enough to be announced winner, a trick Mrs Uganda, Sylvia Namutebi Allibhai seems to have mastered.

The two-time beauty queen who represented Uganda at Miss world 2011 and was crowned Mrs Uganda in 2021 will be joining other contestants in the U.S as a representative of Uganda in the upcoming Mrs World pageant in 2022.

With a goal of representing beauty with a purpose, Sylvia stretches her generosity and compassion to help less privileged women and children through her organisation called Smile with Sly. She has worked so hard with different individuals and partners to support single mothers, orphanage homes as well as special needs homes.

She also is the Director of the Talent Africa Foundation responsible for overseeing several corporate social responsibility activities in Uganda.

Sylvia also founded the Mrs Uganda Mentorship program that focuses on the development of independent young women entrepreneurs. The program targets young women and mothers who are skilled and empowered in various fields to ensure they have sustainable income generating projects in a bid to reduce gender-based violence among other effects of abstract poverty.

Sylvia took part as a brand ambassador in this year’s World Heart Month initiative along with other celebrities like Lydia Jazmine, Patrick Salvado where she pledged as a health influencer to continuously influence a healthy lifestyle to reduce the cases and effects of cardiovascular diseases in Uganda and ultimately, the world.

The two-time beauty queen Sylvia has also appeared as a Judge and Mentor at different Miss Uganda and Little Miss Uganda pageants, with an aim to participate in choosing a queen worthy of the crown and mentor them in their Miss World journeys. This aided in the success of beauty queens such Ms. Quiin Abenakyo, who was crowned Miss World Africa 2018.

Sylivia Namutebi who is also the wife to events promoter, Ali Alibhai, and a mother of one will represent Uganda in the upcoming Mrs World pageant which will happen at Westgate Resort, Las Vegas in the State of Nevada, USA. She will be up against different beauty queens from different countries around the world.

She also embarked on doing daily physicals to make sure she’s physically and mentally ready to bring the crown home.
