Songstress Omega 256, real name Shamim Mulerwa, has confirmed the cancellation of her highly anticipated concert. Speaking on Capital FM’s morning show, the “This Year” hitmaker apologised to her fans, stating, "I want to apologise to my fans, the show is no more... it's not gonna happen."

Omega explained that as the concert date approached, neither she nor her management saw any adverts for the event. When they asked promoter Nobat, he simply replied, “I know what I'm doing.” The situation felt off to the team.

The contract stated that Omega would perform with a band, but when they requested Nobat to deposit money for rehearsals, he refused, saying he didn't work under such pressure.

On Thursday, April 3, Nobat Events announced the cancellation of the May 3 concert at Kampala’s Lugogo Cricket Oval. In an audio clip, Nobat, whose real name is Nobert Twizire, expressed frustration, threatening to make Omega 256 an example, although he did not explain the cancellation in detail.

This concert would have marked Omega 256’s debut performance, but Nobat, known for his promotional stunts, left many sceptical about the situation. Last year, he successfully promoted Ray G’s concert at the same venue. Before that event, he had threatened to cancel it and even suggested selling the venue to a church group.

It’s also worth noting that Omega 256’s concert was scheduled on the same day as Truth 256’s show in Mbarara, which could have impacted attendance. With such large venues and the lack of creative marketing, both events could struggle to draw a significant crowd.
