Ugandan comedian Anne Kansiime has unveiled details of her upcoming show, The Comedy Grill of Anne Kansiime, which will take place on May 9th at the Sheraton Gardens in Kampala.
This is the first-ever professional roast show in Uganda, an exciting one for the country's comedy scene.
The show promises a night full of sharp wit, humour, and playful jabs, as Kansiime faces a stellar lineup of "Grill Chefs" who will roast her in front of an eager audience.
At a press conference held to announce the event, Kansiime shared her excitement about the groundbreaking nature of the show.
She said the show had been curated to make it comfortable for the audience.

"We have a great team of writers, including Dr Hillary Okello, Ehmah Napoelone, and others, ensuring that we deliver the very best that night," she said.
"This will be a show with some hard feelings, but we aim to keep it respectful. The show will be in English, with some elements in Luganda. Please note, this is an 18+ event, so don’t bring children."
Kansiime assured the audience that The Comedy Grill would become an annual tradition, constantly improving to offer an unforgettable experience.

A Stellar Lineup of Roast Masters
The event will feature an array of high-profile personalities, including former minister and women’s rights activist Miria Matembe, Kansiime’s estranged husband Abraham Tukahiirwa aka Skylanta, media personalities Gaetano Kaggwa, Sheila Gashumba, and Prim Asiimwe, artists Nana Kagga and GNL Zamba, as well as fellow comedians Salvador, Madrat, Chico, and Omara Daniel.
The show will be hosted by Tuwangye Richard and Deedan Muyiira.

Kansiime expressed her confidence in the writing team, mentioning that they are working hard to ensure each performer delivers a stellar performance.
"We are not taking any chances. We don’t want to disappoint anyone who’s come expecting a specific kind of show," she added.

Tickets for the event are now on sale, with early bird tickets available for UGX 80,000 until May 6. Standard tickets are priced at UGX 100,000, while Gold and Platinum tables are available for groups at UGX 3M and UGX 5M, respectively.
