On March 30, 2024, Druscilla Mayanja, the daughter of Humphrey Mayanja, shared an emotional post on X as she remembered her father one year after his passing.
"One year without my dad, and it still feels unreal. I miss his voice, laughter, the way he made everything feel okay. Grief doesn’t get lighter, I just carry it differently now. I hold onto his love, his lessons, and the warmth of his memory. I miss you every day ❤️," Druscilla wrote.
This followed a heartfelt message she posted on March 30, 2024, reflecting on her father’s battle with cancer: "My love, you fought till your last hour, I know you’re not in pain anymore but I don’t know life without you. You are my best friend, my first and forever love. Having you as a dad is an absolute honour. Till we meet again my love ❤️."

At his funeral, Gerald Mayanja, Humphrey’s father, shared the heartbreaking final moments of his son’s life.
“In all the years I have been on this earth, I have never seen someone go through so much pain in sickness,” he said.
Gerald also recalled how, at one point, even the simple act of moving his arm became so painful that it felt as if it were being severed.
Two days before his death, Humphrey confided in his parents, saying, "Dad and Mom, I have had enough with life, I am done with the world."
Prossy Mayanja, Humphrey's mother, revealed that she too had reached her limit, praying for her son’s suffering to end.
