The US-based Youtuber caught up with the Mutundwe Christian Fellowship senior pastor, who is on a tour in the US and Canada.
The interview flowed well until Namulindwa brought up Pastor Mugerwa’s successful marriage of 35 years.
She wanted to know why the Pastor in his Ministry emphasizes training of married women through seminars and conferences and yet pays less attention to the men.
In his response, Pastor Mugerwa said women if trained well, have a greater chance of saving a failing marriage, compared to men.
“Women by nature are submissive and flexible, they can easily take instructions, so if you are able to change them, it is easier for them to influence their husbands,” he said.
“Men, on the other hand, are too big-headed.”
Mugerwa then went on to give an example of how a woman should treat a drunkard husband who comes home late in the night.
“I teach women that when your man comes home at 3 am in the morning, be humble, go outside and light the stove…put on some milk for him and also warm his bathing water….if he’s too drunk to shower himself you should help him as well,” he said,
Namulindwa jumped in her seat in shock.
“You are asking me, Namulindwa to wake up at 3 a.m. to prepare milk for a man?” she wondered, to which the pastor responded in the affirmative.
“You have to become a fool… the bible tells us first to become fools and in the end, we shall be the wisest,” c0unselled the pastor.
Still in disbelief, Namulindwa asked the pastor if he would give the same advice to his married daughters.
“Yes I do,” he replied.
“I have married daughters and I have given this advice to them and they practice it.
“We as human beings do wrong to others and to God, but he’s always good to us. Evil cannot fix evil…if your man is evil and you decide to respond with evil, that will be a draw, and the marriage will fail.”
The interviewer said she would ask God for that kind of grace, but admitted it would not be easy.
