The two had met over a video challenge on TikTok and had been chatting on Instagram and WhatsApp for some time.
When they finally stepped out for the first date at Cafe Javas, Garden City, Angora was already growing impatient. This was back in 2021.
The singer and rapper had taken too long to ask for her number; and even when they chatted, he seemed poor at keeping the conversation flowing.
“He simply sent an occasional ‘hi, how are you’ and that was it,” she ranted in a YouTube Interview last week.

On the first date, Kamenyo came late, she recalls. She was feeling very nervous about dating a celebrity, and she wasn't sure if he'd like her short dress.
“These celebrities can give you a heart attack,” Angora said.
“Usually there are many ladies who are interested and some of them are even close to him. So, it is a lot of pressure, when you realize that you are the one with him at that moment.”
“So when he finally arrived; I was feeling uncomfortable; I did not know whether to adjust my dress or not.”
“He dressed to kill, and then gave me that side hug he smelt so good; it felt like he was one of those good-looking men from the movies,” she narrated.
How they met
Kamenyo, real names Derrick Katongole, recalls that he first noticed Angora in a TikTok challenge featuring a Geo Steady song.
He liked her so much that he thought of sending her a message, but it was not possible because she wasn't following him.
So he sought her out on Instagram, and thankfully, she responded instantly.
“I was intimidated by her looks and I figured I should not rush her. I took my time without asking for her contact or even taking her out,” he said.
First Kiss
This was on their first date.
From Cafe Javas, he drove her to his show her show in Kawuku, from where he took her back to her rented house in Namanve.
As she stepped into her house, he tricked her into a kiss.
“I begged her for a peck on the cheek, and she reluctantly gave in, but I quickly turned she planted it on my lips,” he recalled.
Kamenyo and Angora are now happily married with a child.
Their relationship was not without turbulence. They bitterly split up last year but managed to make up after intervention from friends and family.
