Friday night marked a historic moment in Uganda’s comedy scene, as comedian Anne Kansiime’s Comedy Grill took over Sheraton Gardens, celebrating her 10-year career. 

The event, curated by Talent Africa Group and filled with humour and wit, kicked off with a warm red-carpet welcome, where guests were handed a signature Uganda Waragi Lemon & Ginger cocktail. 

The atmosphere was electric, setting the stage for a night of playful jabs and unforgettable moments.

A Stellar Lineup of Roast Masters

The Comedy Grill featured a stellar lineup of "Grill Chefs" who kept the audience roaring with laughter. 

Among the comedians were Salvador, Madrat, Chico, Nana Kagga, GNL Zamba, Gaetano Kaggwa, Dr. Miria Matembe, Prim Asiimwe, and Skylanta. 

Each performer brought their unique style, making the roast an unpredictable yet thrilling experience.

Anne Kansiime Embraces the Roast

Anne Kansiime, the star of the show, made a grand entrance in a flowery pink gown and embraced the playful humiliation with grace and humour. 

As the Grill Chefs took their turns, the crowd was left in stitches, and Kansiime took it all in stride. 

When it was her turn to speak, she laughed and said, “You have let me make a fool of myself and now my heart is full.”

Kansiime expressed gratitude to her guests, roasters, sponsors, and everyone who has supported her over the past decade. 

As the night drew to a close, the audience was left with the feeling that this event was a fresh, exciting addition to Uganda’s entertainment scene, one that will surely become an annual tradition.

Hillary Baguma, Brand Manager for Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries, expressed pride in the event, stating, “Seeing such incredible talent come together was truly special. As Uganda Waragi Lemon and Ginger, we’re proud to have sparked this unforgettable night of fun in a way that authentically reflects who we are as Ugandans.”
