Schools are required to open an account with Ecobank, after which they are seamlessly integrated into the SurePay payment system.

This allows parents to make school fee payments through multiple convenient channels, such as the Ecobank Mobile App, Quick Teller-Interswitch, over-the-counter services, and ABC Agents located across the country.

The platform ensures that payments are processed in real-time, with funds immediately transferred to the school’s Ecobank account.

Innovative Features for Enhanced Efficiency

SurePay is packed with features that make it a real game-changer for educational institutions. One of its key benefits is the real-time processing of payments, which eliminates the need for manual tracking of transactions.

As soon as a payment is made, both the school and the parent receive instant SMS notifications with details of the transaction. Each student is assigned a unique code, enabling schools to efficiently track payments and maintain accurate records.

Additionally, SurePay supports automatic generation of learner report cards, covering all levels from Nursery to A-Level, in line with the new curriculum. Schools can also leverage an inbuilt SMS platform for communication, sending reminders, meeting invitations, and other important notices to parents.

Grace Muliisa, the Managing Director of Ecobank Uganda, expressed her excitement about the partnership, stating that the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to digital transformation and improving financial management in schools.

She added, “Whether you’re an Ecobank account holder or not, we strive to deliver seamless banking experiences for all.”

With this innovative solution, Ecobank Uganda is not only simplifying the payment process for parents but also enhancing financial management for schools through real-time transfers and comprehensive accounting features.
