In downtown Kampala, in places such as Kikuubo, many shops stocked up Valentine's Day gifts ranging from faux flowers, teddy bears, and different household items branded for the day.

Abdul Kigozi, one of the traders said this year’s Valentine was not embraced by buyers for different reasons.

This season this time round was a big miss for us; it was not like last year,” he said.

Others shared images of the presents they got from their lovers ranging from simple flower bouquets to brand new cars.
