Tortured Ugandan lawmaker Zaake allowed to travel for treatment

Tortured and ill Ugandan legislator Francis Zaake has been released on police bond to allow him travel abroad for treatment.

The legislator was blocked from travelling last week and detained at Kiruddu Hospital pending examination by government doctors.

Police have charged the Mityana Municpailatiy with treason and unlawful escape from cutody. He is expected to appear before the Commissioner Electoral Crime on October 3rd.

A release bond says Zaake declined to sign in the presence of his lawyer Nicholas Opio.
