Tortured Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi AKA Bobi Wine has been granted bail by the Gulu Magistrate Court.
Court allowed bail at non cash bond of UGX5m and sureties at UGX10m shillings for Bobi Wine and 11 others, including Gerald Karuhanda, Paul Mwiru and Wadri Kassiano. The group was the first batch to be granted bail.
The Ugandan lawmaker appeared in court on Monday aided by crutches together with 32 other co-accused facing treason charges. They have been in detention for two weeks since their arrest in the northern town of Arua.
Wine's lawyers presented three sureties including Mugisha Muntu, Buyaga West MP Hon. Barnabas Tinkasimire and Mr. Eddy Yawe Ssentamu, his elder brother.
Bail terms
Kassiano Wadri has been restriction from visiting his constituency for 3 months. Court will only granted him permission if need arises.
No travel documents will be deposited in court since the applicants have no flight risk

Gulu Chief Magistrate allowed Wine and the co-accused to access private doctors while they are on remand at Gulu Main Prision.
