The legislator was halted at the airport on Thursday night by security operatives and was driven back to Mulago Hospital in Kampala.

The 36-year-old lawmaker was denied to travel because he hadn't been examined by medical doctors for torture injuries.

A statement issued by police has revealed that Kyagulanyi was examined on Friday by specialist doctors and he is free to leave.

"Now that Hon. Kyagulanyi has been examined by the medical team of experts at Mulago National Referral Hospital (Kiruddu Complex), the Uganda Police Force has allowed him to leave the medical facility," part of the statement issued on August 31st reads.

His lawyers have threatened to take a legal action against a medical doctor who was seen in the ambulance that abducted Bobi Wine at the airport on Thursday night.
