The nephew of Dhanji Liladhar Parmar, a close friend and the tailor Kenya’s first President Jomo Kenyatta, has revealed details of what his uncle did minutes before he suffered a heart attack, leading to his death.
Last week, Mr. Parmar died at the age of 82-years at his Nakuru home following the cardiac arrest.
However, before passing away his nephew Rakesh says that as early as 6 am, Parmar sent a good morning text message to almost everyone on his phonebook.

Parmar was scheduled to travel to Nairobi with his nephew but ended up being rushed to the hospital after collapsing in the bathroom.
"I came to pick him up for our planned journey. The rest of the family had just woken up and found him collapsed in the bathroom. We rushed him to hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival," Rakesh said.
Parmar’s corneas were harvested and donated as his dying wish was to help someone in need of them.
"He was a soft-spoken man who always meant what he said. I recall him saying that his corneas should be harvested upon his death when I visited him.
He has always been a generous man and we had to grant him before his cremation," a family member was quoted by the Standard as saying.
He was cremated on Thursday at the Nakuru Hindu Crematorium
