The five metre-ling veil, draped over her Queen Mary Diamond Bandeau tiara, was embroidered with flowers from the Commonwealth countries at now the Duchess of Sussex's request.

A Desert Rose flower was selected from Uganda; while the Tropical Orchid, Torch Lily, Lotus were selected from Kenya, Rwanda and Malawi respectively -- among other other Commonwealth countries.

She also requested two of her favourite flowers, including California poppy and wintersweet, to be embroidered on the veil.

Her wedding gown was designed by Ms. Waight Keller, a British designer who became the first female Artistic Director at the historic French fashion house Givenchy last year.

Delicate embroidery

Duchess of Sussex's silk veil required a lot of delicate work.  The veil reportedly took hundreds of man-hours to design.

The creators washed their hands every 30 minutes to keep it pristine.

The veil was designed to represent "the distinctive flora of each Commonwealth country united in one spectacular floral composition", according to Kensington Palace.
