Riots erupt in Bobi Wine's neighbourhood after his rearrest

Police have deployed heavily in the poor neighbourhood of Kamwokya following Bobi Wines rearrest from the airport on Thursday night blocking him from travelling for treatment.

Demonstrators created roadblocks and burned car tyres on Friday in protest demanding authorities to allow the musician-turned-lawmaker to seek specialised treatment for the injuries he sustained during his brutal arrest in Arua.

Security operatives used canes and teargas to disperse the small group of demonstrators.

NBS TV video journalist Joshua Mujunga is receiving treatment after security forces caned him while covering the riots in Kamwokya.
