Muslim singer Omulangira Ssuna has spoken out days after he was criticising for performing in bars during Ramadhan, the holy month of fasting in the Muslim faith.
Ssuna converted to Islam in 2012 and was given the name Abdul Shakur, during a process to formalise his relationship with then new found love.
The singer claims that singing is his God given "work" and there is nothing that can stop him unless when he is sick.
He said "Ramadhan is progressing well and it will end" but "it will not stop me from singing".
"I'm a singer and Ramadhan can't stop me from singing, because that's my work".
"The work God gave me is to sing, there is no way you're going to tell me to stop singing because of this reason or that".
Ssuna, who acknowledged that he doesn't like discussing about his faith and family, failed to reveal whether he is still a Muslim or not.
Last month, he made headlines when he attacked Ugandan DJs for not supporting local talents by playing their songs instead of Nigerians.
