Patrick Onyango was reportedly being trailed by two boda-boda riders on Thursday while returning home.

The force's spokesperson says Onyango "changed the strategy of his movement" when he became suspicious.

"He called upon the local police to intervene which was done immediately," part of the statement issued by police reads.

The police spokesperson Emilian Kayima says Onyango didn't sustain any injuries as earlier reported by the local media.
