The pastor helped Kaye after he gave a moving testimony. He even offered him a house and a car -- also some financial benefits.

Speaking for the first after Thursday's embarrassing moment, the pastor said Kaye needs support and shouldn't be judged by people.

He added that he is optimistic of the singer's recovery even though "no rehab could help him. No advice could help. Nothing could help".

Pastor Kayanja urged people to "just pray" for the struggling singer saying "maybe he needed to go down that way so that God could get him up".

The family said alcoholism and drug abuse have been his solace despite seeking treatment from several rehabilitation facilities.

Kaye was briefly detained at Natete Police Station where he pleaded guilty on charges of vandalism and asked for forgiveness.
