Notorious robbers arrested with SAR gun and machete

The suspects are currently detained at Bweyogerere Police Station

Police in Kampala have arrested three armed robbers suspected to be involved in a series of coordinated robberies.

The trio was arrested with a semi-automatic rifle (SAR) gun which was aiding them to commit robberies.

Their arrest comes after a motorcycle rider was shot dead in Bweyogerere after robbing his bike.

One of the suspects confessed killing the motorcycle rider by shooting him the head.

The motorcycle was recovered during a joint operation at one of the suspects' home.

"The suspects are currently detained at Bweyogerere Police Station on charges of murder vide CRB 270/2018 contrary to section 188 and 189 of the Penal Code Act as more investigations are still ongoing," according to a police report released on Wednesday.
