A small crowd of people, including journalists, camped at the airport since Wednesday mid-morning waiting for the beauty queen's arrival.

She was welcomed by Uganda's tourism board officials in presence of other former Miss Uganda crown holders including Sylvia Namutebi and Leah Kagasa.

While speaking to press, Abenakyo was thankful for the support Ugandans showed her during the competition and 'I'm glad I was able to make it for my country'.
