Kid Dee, Alimpa face jail time for stealing song
The two are being accused by an upcoming artist known professionally as Gladiator the Emperor for nipping his tune titled “Mugambe.”
Kid Dee released the music audio mid-last week, featuring Ronald Alinda of ‘Lusuku Lwa Cement’ fame
Gladiator, however, says Kid Dee conspired with Producer Eddy Dee to snatch the reggae tune from him.
He says Kid Dee found him in the studio working on the song and said he liked it a lot.
“He then took me out and requested to throw in a verse which I reluctantly agreed to,” he said.
“It was only days later while scrolling through TikTok that stumbled on the very song featuring Alimpa. They just went back in my absence in redid the whole song.”
Both songs sound exactly the same, save for a few lyrical alterations.
Gladiator while addressing the press on Monday, vowed to drag the two artists to police.
“You stole my song and I am going to arrest you. This is not a game we are playing; you cannot just take my song like that,” he said.
“You found me in the studio, my song was almost done and you convinced me to get you on, and now you claim to have helped me? That is not right.”
Gladiator says he has already secured financial support from a rich friend who is going to help him drag the two artists to the authorities.
